Sift dry ingredients together. Add water until dough is the consistency of molding clay. For a better batch, wrap dough in plastic and refrigerate overnightsp But if you can’t wait, go right ahead! After cookie ornaments are shaped, bake in a preheated 300°F oven for about 1 hour. (Dough can be glazed with egg white before baking for richer color. Though not necessary, a guaranteed way of preserving the ornaments is to brush them with a polyurethane after cooking.)
Cream butter and egg until well blended. Sift flour, milk powder, salt, wheat germ, and yeast together. Add flour mix and cold water alternately to butter and egg mixture. Knead 2-3 minutes. Preheat oven to 350°F. Roll dough out on a lightly floured surface to 1/4–1/2″ thick. Dip cookie cutter in flour and cut out dog biscuits with a cookie cutter of your choice. Bake for 25-30 minutes.
Solution A: Mix together in a large bowl—2 cups white glue (Elmer’s school glue); 1 1/2 cup water; food coloring (several drops)
Solution B: Mix in another bowl—1 cup HOT water; 3 tsp Borax detergent
Add 1/3 cup of Solution B to 1/3 cup Solution A; mix well. Remove the resulting ‘solid’ GOOP; add another 1/3 cup of B to 1/3 cup Solution A; mix and remove GOOP; add the final 1/3 cup of B to A; remove the GOOP and discard any remaining liquid. Have fun with it!
